Welcome!
My name is Kalei, owner/ head trainer of 4Q Canine!
In 2016, I was creating lesson plans at a university where I was studying to become a Spanish teacher. Bored in between classes, I started to browse a few local pet adoption websites. I wasn't particularly looking for a dog, however, I couldn't resist the urge to "just visit" this little 8-week-old, teddy-bear looking puppy that was advertised as a Lhasa-apso mix. Perfect for an apartment, I thought.
Many months (and frustrations) later, the couch-potato breed of dog I thought I was getting, turned out to be a super energetic Australian Cattle Dog/ Jack Russell Terrier/ Chow mix who started to display behavioral issues at just 6 months old.
When I decided to get a puppy, I envisioned doing everything with this dog....off-leash hikes, vacations, brewery trips, coffee shops, you name it, I wanted to include my dog! However, the puppy mannerisms I was told would soon go away quickly escalated and taking Fern places became a stressful chore. Here, I learned about the importance of quality dog training, trust/relationship building, the role of genetics and biological fulfillment.
In 2020, I decided to start 4Q Canine Dog Training Services with one goal in mind; to help people help their dog. And to help people live better lives, have more adventures, and create more memories with their dogs. Simply put...trained dogs have more freedom, fun, opportunities, and adventures.
